The Checkered Jaguar was created by Brescia Dover. A mental health advocate, Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer survivor, professional filmmaker/photographer, & social media expert. The Checkered Jaguar offers elite social media management, professional videography + photography, & luxury design services to businesses, brands, & individuals looking to unlock growth through creative storytelling.
The Checkered Jaguar also features a powerful podcast & meaningful written blogs that are geared towards helping you feel understood while normalizing difficult + vulnerable conversations.
The Name: Checkered Jaguar, What Does It Mean?
Brescia found an incredible vintage jacket once. It had a sequin jaguar on the back with black & white checkers underneath.
When trying to come up with a name that encompassed what Brescia was trying to create with her brand, she thought back to the jacket.
She wanted to inspire others & help them find inner self-confidence to “roar like a jaguar.” She also wanted to encourage people to find ways to stand out, like checkers would on a jaguar! Checkered Jaguar was the perfect name.
The Checkered Jaguar has turned into Brescia’s way to share her life experience with others + help brands & businesses reach their full visual potential through creative storytelling. To optimize creativity and give people the chance to feel connected. To teach people how to root for themselves and become more confident.
As a cancer survivor & someone who has lived with mental illness…
Brescia understands challenges & hardship. Beating Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer, Bipolar, & Anorexia have given Brescia the ability to empathize & relate to others in a way that not many can do. Brescia has taken off as an elite social media manager, videographer/photographer, and design expert, who continually exemplifies grit.

Work.
Brescia started as an independent filmmaker/photographer in 2013, where she worked as a dedicated visual storyteller. Soon after, Brescia expanded her creative expertise and became an elite social media manager. Brescia launched the Checkered Jaguar at the start of 2022.

Education.
Brescia studied Creative Media & Film at Northern Arizona University. She graduated with a Bachelor’s of science & a whole lot of knowledge when it comes to filmmaking + all things creative. She even studied abroad in Italy during one of her college years! (Talk about a cultured individual).

Life.
Having health challenges has shaped Brescia into the human she is today. After overcoming severe illnesses, she has become an extremely resilient individual. Her favorite word is grit, & she embodies having grit in her everyday life.
